One of the most important parts of this entire concept of the “photo of the day” is how much I can learn while I’m doing it. Part of that has, in the past, included learning how to properly shoot and edit RAW photos, and I decided to make this particular photo a “case study” in RAW editing. This photo is not miraculous or spectacular by any stretch of imagination, but it started out looking something like this:
I shot this in a rush to get to sleep the other night, irritable after having to clean up a flood in our bathroom. I did not snap photos of that (you’re welcome). It’s a somewhat disappointing photo, but when I started to play with the RAW settings I noticed I could make it so much more clear, I could tone down the overexposure, and I could edit the colors in such a way that the photo isn’t black and white, but it still looks quite monochrome without being boring. Anyways, I thought it was an interesting little study after I had finished with it. Much love.
