Day 6; Wake up after camping overnight at Cathedral Valley campground in the middle of nowhere and make it over to Cathedral Valley Overlook (about a mile down) for what turned into the absolute best morning of the entire trip.

Making our way down from the clifftops into the heart of Cathedral Valley.
This is one of those photos that took longer to edit than most others I’ve ever worked on, not just on this trip but on this entire website as well. 45 shot stitch brenizer panorama in the heart of Cathedral Valley as the sun rose over the canyon walls. Original resolution was somewhere in the vicinity of 55,000 pixels wide.
Further down into Cathedral Valley, the “lower cathedrals” can be found. These are two massive eroded gypsum pillars called the “Temple of the Sun” and “Temple of the Moon”, respectively. We stopped here, took some photos, and then headed the remaining 30 miles out of Cathedral Valley, completing the Capitol Reef loop and getting back down to the 24 to head into Bryce Canyon.
