Tyson and Lindsey

The fact that we still managed to make this film work despite the wedding date lying on the weekend before finals is just another thing to add to the list of awesomeness for that weekend. I was apprehensive about this shoot due to the time and distance constraints (I may or may not have grossly exceeded the speed limit on the 5 in my rush to make it from LA to San Francisco in 5 and a half hours), but everything seemed to work out so flawlessly in the end.

Account Declined

Language warning. Casey said “We should make a movie tonight.” And I replied with, “What if a crazy computer hacker got his account declined in the middle of an epic heist operation?”

Behold.

Arlington 9/11

On the weekend of the 10th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, I was fortunate enough to fly up to Arlington, Washington to spend the day filming a ceremony put together by my dad’s fire department in which they unveiled a piece of World Trade Center steel they have acquired and plan to make into a memorial there. It was extremely eerie being so close to the steel, touching it. I’ll let the video do the work here.

Crabbing

Went crabbing in the Puget Sound with my uncle and his friend. The music has nothing to do with the video. Oh, and the Puget Sound is absolutely freezing and has jellyfish.

Becky & Patrick

Here’s to my first wedding video, and hopefully many more after this!

Thanks to Becky and Patrick, a beautiful new couple who let me take part in their amazing day. Many well wishes to you two, hope your future is as bright as your first day was.

River Trip

For some reason, Vimeo seems to have deleted this video. I’ll repost sometime soon and get it working, although it’ll probably have to be with new sound.

The Therapist

Never have I laughed so hard while shooting a film.

Oscar Hayes (Final Score + Film)

Go check out Sam’s original video :)

Delta

Project done for a film class at Chapman University.

Meaning of the title:

“Delta” can be used to refer to one or both of two things in this instance:

1) Delta as referring to a United States special forces team, (i.e. Delta Force), connoting something military related.

2) Delta referring to a delta rhythm on an encephalogram, which is used to map out brain waves. Delta waves are the lowest frequency waves emitted by the human brain and are typically associated with deep, dreamy sleep.

Shot at 20fps for that extra stuttery effect. Either that or the fact that my camera at the time didn’t go above 20fps. Your call.

December

Some test shots and randomness during a long alone period at home. The dolly shots were accomplished using a homemade dolly built out of two aluminum drawer slides attached to two electric junction boxes and a handle to slide it all smoothly with, built for about $30 at Home Depot. Really beats the $1200 Kessler Slider or even the $100 Indislider. I’ll post a how-to sometime soon.

You can watch the video in HD on the Vimeo channel.

Sierra Peak

An incredible journey to absolutely nowhere.

Sierra Peak is the northernmost summit in the Santa Ana mountain range at 3,045 feet. Had we been able to reach it, we would have been able to see from Corona out to Catalina Island, a visibility range of a little less than 100 miles. We’ll be back to try and make the trip on dirt bikes sometime soon :)
